Chen Shiping is Vice President of Beijing Keywise Capital Management, Ltd., in Beijing, China. He specializes in environmental investments.

Shiping previously served for three years as a senior associate with Entri. Chen was a lead developer of the “China 8760 Grid Model,” an econometric-engineering model of the Chinese electric power sector. That model continues to be the only power sector model outside of the Chinese government capable of projecting hour-by-hour power demand, generation sources, and emissions.

Chen earlier worked for Transition Energy, helping to found Dalian East New Energy Development, Ltd., (DEED) a U.S.-China cooperative joint venture for developing clean energy investments in China. Chen’s work directly contributed to the financing and construction of 25 megawatts of waste heat power generating capacity in three Chinese provinces and oversight of a profitable clean energy company.

Chen earlier researched emissions markets as a staff member of the Global Environmental Institute.

He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, a M.S. from the University of California, Riverside, and an M.B.A. from the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing, China.
